About Sydney University Press

Sydney University Press was restarted in 2003 as a digital and print "on demand" publisher. Books can be ordered from the SUP website and are printed and dispatched as required.

 Republishing Australian classics lion

SUP draws on the digital library collection of the University of Sydney Library's Scholarly Text and Image Service (SETIS). SETIS is the largest collection of XML electronic texts on Australian history and literature in the world. Over 300 texts are fully searchable and readable via the Web. SUP provides the ability to purchase a print copy of selected texts to anyone, anywhere.

SUP has partnered with the Copyright Agency Ltd (CAL) to bring out-of-print Australian novels back into circulation. Twenty-five titles are currently available in the Classic Australian Works series. Future directions for this partnership include the introduction of large print and other accessible editions of the Classic Australian Works, and the addition of more titles to the series.

 New works lion

SUP publishes new work based on teaching and research from the University of Sydney and other Australian academic institutions. SUP supports the University of Sydney's aims to be the premier research institution in Australia, through dissemination of the ideas and insights of the University's academic staff.
